Beautiful and safe this is an intimate ski resort for families, beginners and improving leisure skiers. For the more accomplished or adventurous Bernex ski resort is 15 mins by car, and access to the massive Porte de Soleil ski area is 40 mins drive away.
The renowned ESF (Ecole Ski Francais) ski school operates at Thollon, providing ski and boarding instruction for all levels; there is even a creche (€3 per hour) so parents can actually ski! There are several equipment hire shops in the village. Plenty of restaurants and bars in the village provide traditional après ski for families and those looking for something different from the club-based nightlife of the large resorts. Two supermarkets provide convenience foods and local fresh produce and the tourist information office can help with planning your excursions.
